The Making of the Night Marchers

Na Huaka'i Po

In ancient Hawaiian times, fierce battles were fought leaving many warriors slain. The souls would not rest as Night Marchers are those fallen warriors who travel on those ancient paths. The myth warns travelers that these warriors will take the life of anything in their way. Whether it is hate or revenge, it doesn't matter who you are, you will be joining them in the afterlife. One possible way of avoiding them is to lay flat on your stomach and never make eye contact. If you do this, you may not perish. The name was picked because of its power in Hawaiian History (and because most leaders are from Hawaii).

Guild Ranks and Explanations

Tourist- Levels 1 to 49 also Probation Rank for new people. (A tourist is a visitor)
Kauwä- Levels 50-59 (Kauwä in old Hawaii were usually slaves or the lowest rank in the societal caste)
Menehune- Levels 60-69 (A Menehune is a dwarf sized person found in old Hawaiian myth as expert craftsmen but are unable to be seen because they live in deep forests or hidden valleys. They are also known to be mischievous)
Maka'äinana- Levels 70-79 (A commoner in old Hawaiian times that carried out societal roles like fishing and farming)
Kahuna- Level 80 (A priest in old Hawaiian times. There are different types of Kahuna's but we keep it general and just use Kahuna)
Huaka'i Po- Used when raiding and covers your repair bill (The name refers to our guild name. Huaka'i Po is Hawaiian for Night Marchers)
Ali'i- Class/Main Officer (Ali'i is Hawaiian for Chief or one of the high ranks in old Hawaiian society)
Konohiki- Raid Leader (Konohiki in old Hawaiian times were like managers of a land division. They were in charge of making sure that things went correctly and kept the society in the land division stable or things would fall into chaos)
Akua- Reserved for RL Friends, no difference from this rank to Officers (Akua is Hawaiian for God, spirit, ghost, etc.)
Akua Nui- Guild Leader (The Same as Akua except Nui means big or in this case, main. So Akua Nui is Main God)
